A fast-moving cold front is on its way to Georgia, bringing rain for Thursday and a big drop in temperatures for the weekend.Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist David Chandley said there is currently a threat of severe weather in south Georgia, but most of north Georgia will experience a brief period of heavy rain by 4 p.m.“Cold and windy conditions will follow the front Thursday night, with areas dropping well into the 30s by Friday morning,” Chandley said.A wind advisory is in effect beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday and lasting until 7 p.m. Friday. Gusts are expected to reach 35 mph.“Friday is the first day of winter and it will feel like it,” Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Karen Minton said.Friday’s highs will be in the 40s, with lows in the low 30s and upper 20s Friday morning.“The strong winds will make the morning temperatures feel like the teens. It will be a cold, windy day on Friday,” Minton said.
