The principal of North Atlanta High School announced his resignation Friday.
A spokeswoman for Atlanta Public Schools said Dr. Howard Taylor will step down on December 1, 2013.
North Atlanta High is the most expensive public school in Georgia.
A Channel 2 Action News investigation exposed the total cost of the new school at just under $150,000,000.
It cost $56,500,000 for the property on Northside Parkway, $82,634,808 for the main buildings and $8,759,181 for the athletic fields.
A statement from the school district spokeswoman thanked Taylor for his leadership during the planning, relocation and opening of the school.
A transition plan is in place and the search for a new principal will begin immediately.
