CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. —
Police are warning residents about a sudden spike of Honda Accord thefts in Forest Park.
Authorities said six Honda Accords have been stolen from Forest Park in Clayton County since Thursday.
"We are trying to get the word out to all citizens of the metro Atlanta area, specifically Forest park, to be on the lookout for suspicious persons in and and around this make and model," Forest Park police officials said.
The thefts are occurring in the overnight hours with no evidence left behind, police said. There have been no reported recoveries of any of these cars at this time.
According to 2010 data, the most recent statistics available from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, Honda Accord is the No. 1 stolen vehicle in Georgia and in the nation. Others on the Top 5 list Georgia and across the country are Honda Civics, Toyota Camrys, Ford F150 pickups and Chevrolet pickups, according to the crime bureau.
