FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. —
A teenager says she was able to outsmart a man who was trying to kidnap her.
Eighteen-year-old Jennifer Nguyen told Channel 2’s Eric Philips she was jogging last week along Camford Stone Path in Fayetteville around 12:30 p.m. when a man pulled his car in front of her.
“He reached out his passenger window, told me to get into the car. First thing I thought about was to run,” Nguyen said.
Nguyen said she was clutching her cellphone, yelling, “Someone is following me,” while pretending to have police on the line.
“When I started running, I thought I might get shot,” Nguyen said.
But instead, the man drove off.
Police want to keep another incident from happening and they’re hoping someone recognizes a composite sketch of the man.
Nguyen said the man spoke broken English and had disheveled, thick, bushy hair and a full beard.
“I wouldn’t want anybody else to go through that,” Nguyen said.
Police said the man was driving a four-door Toyota or Honda with red chipped paint.
