CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. —
An overturned garbage truck has shut down Hickory Flat Hwy. at I-575 in Canton.
News Chopper 2 flew over the scene just after noon Monday where trash was spilled over Hickory Flat Hwy., also known as Hwy. 140.
Officials said it will take at least an hour to clean up the debris.
The truck driver was taken to Kennestone Hospital for arm injuries. There were no other drivers involved in the accident, officials said.
Crews have cables hooked from wreckers to the overturned truck to try to get it up and moved after the trash is cleaned up.
Hwy. 140 is closed on the east side of I-575. Area drivers are advised to take Hwy. 20 an alternate route.
