All lanes on Fulton Industrial Boulevard reopened Thursday evening, more than seven hours after a tanker overturned on the busy south Fulton road.
Channel 2’s Tom Jones spent the day at the scene as crews worked to clean up diesel fuel and the wreck that caused traffic gridlock in the area. Crews had to offload the remaining fuel from the overturned tanker truck, move it to another truck, then try to remove the overturned tanker before reopening the lanes.
Police said the driver, who suffered minor injuries, was exiting I-20 and turned on Fulton Industrial Boulevard when the tanker overturned.
Police have not indicated if speed was a factor. The driver simply told Jones, " I don't want to talk about it."
