One child dead after sick call
Police are investigating the death of a child after receiving a sick call from a Jonesboro apartment.
JONESBORO, Ga. —
Police are working to determine what killed a Jonesboro toddler and sickened three other young children.
Emergency crews were called out the Marquis Grande Apartments on Tara Boulevard Wednesday afternoon after receiving a call that a child was not breathing. The 2-year-old was rushed to Southern Regional Hospital, but he did not survive. Three other children under 6 were also hospitalized.
Neighbor Larry Williams said the boy’s stepfather, who didn’t have a cellphone, ran to the leasing office to get help before emergency crews arrived.
