ATLANTA —

Two women killed in a crash with a semi-truck in Douglas County were honored by their coworkers on Friday.

There was an outpouring of love and support for Tracey Downer and Michelle Chinnis at AutoTrader.com on Friday, where flags were at half-staff to honor the women.

A memorial was held at the northeast Atlanta office Friday morning, where around 1,000 employees prayed, cried and remembered their coworkers.

Downer was only with the company for three days. She left behind a son, 9, and a daughter, 6, and her husband, Jeff. Chinnis had been with the company for eight years. She was the single mother of a 17-year-old girl.

The two women were killed Wednesday when, witnesses, said, the driver of a tractor-trailer was trying to beat a traffic light when he slammed into their car.

The company’s president said the loss of both women has been extremely hard on everyone.

“It’s a very tragic loss. It’s something we will never forget. It’s like a piece of the soul of AutoTrader.com is now up in heaven, and we’re all really broken up about it,” CEO Chip Perry said.
