ATLANTA —

Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a south Fulton County church parking lot.

The discovery was made early Saturday. The victim was shot to death in the parking lot of Heatherwood Baptist Church off Highway 138 near Old National Highway, Fulton County police said.

Officers said around 3:50 a.m., a group of men left a nearby club and met in the parking lot. Police said the men parked at the church because of there wasn't enough parking at the club.

The men got into an altercation and significant gunfire was exchanged, police said. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 20-year-old Jonathan Holland, of McDonough.
