HENRY COUNTY, Ga. —
A Henry County man accused of using his pickup truck to kill his pregnant girlfriend has been charged with murder and feticide.
Police believe Brian Feltman, 27, ran down Meghann Pope, 27, just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victim's father, Lawrence Pope, told Channel 2's Carl Willis his daughter was a loving and caring person who was always trying to help people.
He said she was four months pregnant and focused on becoming a mother.
"She couldn't wait," he said. "They were having a reveal party next weekend to find out what the sex of the baby was. We were all prepared to go to her house and have the revealing party."
Those plans were erased when Pope was struck by Feltman's pickup truck on Golf View Crossing in the Heron Bay subdivision in Locust Grove, police said.
"Based on interviews, and physical evidence collected at the scene we have determined and believe that the victim's boyfriend struck her in his vehicle intentionally," said Maj. Jason Bolton.
Police believe Feltman had been drinking at a gathering at the couple's home in the Heron Bay neighborhood.
"Indications are that there may have been some sort of dispute," said Bolton.
Moments after Pope walked away from their home, police said she was fatally injured.
Neighbor Damien Powers said he was one of the first to run out to the scene after hearing cries for help.
"I asked (Feltman) if he hit her and he said he didn't know who hit her," Powers said. "They had some kind of argument and he was looking for her."
Despite his loss, Pope said he harbors no ill will for Feltman.
"We forgive him for what he's done, if it was an accident or whatever it may have been," he said. "We feel sorry for his family."
Police said Feltman was due in court Monday morning.
