Several people treated for heat exhaustion at high school graduation

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. —

Emergency crews treated several people, including a 9-year-old, for heat exhaustion at the McEachern High School  gradution ceremony Friday morning.

The Cobb County School Department said four or five people were treated at the school's stadium for heat-related issues. One person was taken to the hospital for a non-heat-related issue.

Channel 2's Ross Cavitt said two other people have been transported to the hospital, and several others treated at the school.

Temperatures were in the 90s during the graduation ceremony.

The school is located at 2400 MacLand Road in Powder Springs.
