ATLANTA —

A Fulton County cafeteria failed a county health inspection after an inspector found more than 20 critical violations.

An inspector gave Chamber's Cafe a 59 score and shut it down Dec. 17. Health Department scores run from 1 to 100.  The cafe is in the Fulton County Government Center in downtown Atlanta.

An inspection report obtained by Channel 2  said employees weren't washing their hands and the staff needed to remove moldy food from the freezer and treat the area for roaches and fruit flies.

A county representative denied a request for an interview but said in an email that the cafe was run by a contractor named American Food Management and had been shut down twice before for Health Department violations. A call to American Food Management was not returned.

A man who ate at the cafe three weeks ago now wishes he had not.

"That is pretty bad. I mean, that's pretty bad," Timothy Thompson said.

Fulton County is actively looking for someone else to run the cafeteria.
