Father fighting for justice after son shot several times

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. —

Police search for two people in a shooting that left a man on life support.

A witness in a Clayton County shooting that left a man on life support talked to Channel 2's Liz Artz about an argument he heard minutes before the 30-year-old victim was shot.

Police released pictures of the two people they think are responsible. Detectives told Artz they fear the victim might die and they want to question the two suspects seen at the crime scene.

The witness who did not want to be identified by name told Artz he heard gunfire, at least five shots and then saw Marquel Dalcoe lying on the ground bleeding.

“It was horrific, I mean to see the guy laying on the ground and I didn't know what to do. It put me in a panic state of mind,” the witness said.

He said he was working nearby when he witnessed the altercation and subsequent shooting. He told Artz he even recognized the suspects, they were customers at his local business.

Dalcoe was rushed to a nearby hospital on June 29 where he remains critical and on life support. His father talked to Artz Sunday and there is concern his son won't survive.

"Just extraordinary damage to his organs for the first night, it was minute by minute,” said Michael Dalcoe.

Police think 28-year-old Shanice Weaver and a man, only known as Jay, are responsible. Detectives said the two got in an altercation with Dalcoe at a Texaco gas station on West Fayetteville Road. Investigators think Weaver handed a gun to the man who then shot at Dalcoe at least six times, striking him twice.

Michael Dalcoe told Artz his son is not out of the woods yet and could still die. He said Marquel is fighting for his life.

A Channel 2 News crew went to Weaver's house and no one answered. Police have not been able to track the duo down either but detectives said they've been taunting Dalcoe's family on Instagram making posts stating "it just begun now. Who shot ya ...in my biggie voice." That’s referring to the slain rapper Notorious B.I.G, aka Biggie Smalls.

If you have any information that could help police find the two suspected in this shooting, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.

The family has set up a fund for Dalcoe here.
