A family member wants answers in a hit-and-run crash that left ones critically injured Sunday.
State Department of Transportation cameras captured the crash on Interstate 75 northbound in Henry County. Four of the five victims are being treated at intensive care units, including 32-year-old Timeka Walker.
“Her ribs are broken, broken leg, other things lungs punctured and just very, very serious right now,” Walker’s relative, Charlie, told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri.
Timeka Walker’s mother, Carolyn, suffered broken bones in her neck. Her 75-year-old grandmother, Mattie Hambrick and Hambrick’s 77-year-old brother, James Walker, were also injured.
The family was returning from church when the crash happened around 3:30 p.m.
Charlie Walker is hoping witnesses or the driver will come forward.
“Let it work on your conscience. Let you know that, hey, this is something you have to think about, that I caused a whole family to be in the hospital at one time,” Charlie Walker said.
Henry County police said the driver was in a black sport utility vehicle with front-right panel damage.
