DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. —

An emotional guilty plea was entered Tuesday for a driver who hit and killed a teenager.

Shirley MacManners is accused of running down Brandy Hart, 17, as the teen was getting off a school bus last December.

"Nothing can bring her back," Mary Hart Springer said tearfully outside of court, remembering her daughter.

Tuesday, MacManners pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide charges in the incident. She admitted in court she was responsible for not stopping for the school bus, which had its stop arm out and flashing lights on.

"I'm guilty no matter what," MacManners said.

She could be sentenced to as much as 15 years behind bars.

Outside court MacManners talked with Channel 2's Dave Huddleston.

"I just want to say I'm sorry that happened to your daughter, and I take full responsibility, that I didn't mean to," MacManners said.

"We have been through a lot and my mom deals with it every day," Brandy Hart's sister, Erica Billings, said.

The Hart family wants to help others by working with lawmakers to pass tougher school bus legislation.

"We're going to work hard so people can be aware," Billings said.

MacManners is expected to be sentenced Nov. 13.
