SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. —
Power went out and traffic stalled after a driver crashed into a utility pole on a busy Sandy Springs road Friday.
The crash happened around 4:28 a.m., shutting down Roswell Road at Windsor Parkway for several hours during the morning rush hour. Police rerouted traffic through side streets and parking lots during the road closure.
Police said the driver fled the scene, but officers tracked him down shortly afterward.
Traffic lights were hanging on the road and power went out at nearby shopping centers, prompting Georgia Power crews to come to the scene. Power was restored and the road was reopened around 8 a.m.
