A man was killed in a shooting on a historic northeast Atlanta street Monday night.
Atlanta police were called to the 100 block Auburn Avenue NE at about 8:45 p.m. for a double shooting. Bullet shell casings littered the streets in front of the Sweet Auburn Grocery Store as officers investigated. Police said two men were walking down the street when a gunman opened fire.
“The case is possibly an ongoing dispute between the victim and the perpetrator,” Atlanta police Sgt. Ricardo Vazquez told Channel 2 Action News.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 27-year-old Joshua Alexis, of Stone Mountain. Police said he died on the way to the hospital. The surviving victim has yet to be named, but investigators said he is listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made and police have no description of the shooter.
