Deputies make arrest in Cherokee Co. vehicle thefts

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. —

Cherokee Sheriff's deputies arrested two suspects Saturday morning after numerous reports of vehicle thefts that were made in the Twin Pines subdivision off Kellogg Creek Road in Acworth.

Woodstock residents Andrew Birch, 17, and Dallas Walker, 21, were arrested after a foot chase with deputies, Cherokee County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker said.

Investigators have recovered a portion of the stolen property and are currently looking for additional property.

Walker and Birch were each charged with burglary, nine counts of entering auto and possession of marijuana less than an ounce. He remains in custody with a $63,455.00 bond. Birch faces an additional charge of obstruction. He remains in custody with a $64,135.00 bond.

The case is still under investigation.
