DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

Memorial Drive was shut down Tuesday morning while the DeKalb County bomb squad investigated a potential explosive device.

A woman told officers she left an explosive at the Savannah Suites on Memorial Drive, police said.

Officers had responded to a call the woman placed from a nearby QT station around 9:50 a.m., stating she needed a crisis team. The woman said she was recently laid off from Georgia Perimeter College, police said.

The bomb squad located a suspicious device at the hotel, but later determined it to be computer parts.

Memorial Drive reopened at 10:40 a.m.
