CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. —
A DeKalb County police captain is at the center of a theft investigation.
Clayton County police want to know how several stolen items ended up at Capt. Suzanne Kaulbauh's home on Jodeco Drive next to Lake Jodeco. Kaulbauh's neighbors told Channel 2 Action News a swarm of officers descended on her home late Monday and early Tuesday and hauled away a boat, two ATVs, a dirt bike and several rods and reels.
Neighbors also said Kaulbauh, her partner and her partner's son moved into the home at the beginning of March, and a series of thefts happened in the weeks that followed.
Channel 2's Erica Byfield attempted to talk to Kaulbauh but was ordered off of the property. Kaulbauch is not accused of stealing anything, but neighbors believe someone else at the home is responsible.
A neighbor who showed Byfield pictures of the confiscated items said he believes Kaulbauh was aware of the thefts.
"She knew what was going on," James McCrary said.
On Thursday, DeKalb County police said Kaulbach has been placed on restrictive duty. The department has launched an internal investigation against her.
