COLLEGE PARK, Ga. —

Channel 2's Erica Byfield caught up with several people outside of World Changers Church International who said they are standing beside the mega-church pastor accused of attacking his teenage daughter during an argument.

Pastor Creflo Dollar told his College Park congregation he should not have been arrested.

Dollar's congregation erupted as he said those words, seconds after approaching the podium Sunday morning.

He described what happened the day he was arrested at his Fayette County mansion.

"A family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional," Dollar said.

He continued, saying his daughter was not choked or punched and that nothing was on the teen's neck except an abrasion from Eczema, a previous skin condition.

"Anything said to the contrary is exaggeration and sensationalism," he said.

Member Alton Stephens said he is convinced that his pastor is telling the truth.

"I'm 100 percent behind my pastor," Stephens said.

"It's something I could identify with because I've raised children of my own.  You're gonna have a parent-children issue."

Former member Naomi Lyles said the incident compelled her to return to her old place of worship.

"He did not do the crime they accused him of doing," Lyles said, noting she was very moved by Dollar's remarks.

Lyles insists the situation between Dollar and his daughter was blown out of proportion.

Dollar, a father of five, who stressed his love for all of his children, told the crowd they would be "appalled" at the facts regarding the incident when they are revealed.

Only Channel 2 Action News was there as the pastor bonded out of the Fayette County jail Friday morning.

"Anything you want to say to your congregation? Channel 2's Tom Jones asked him.

"No, sir," replied Dollar.

Authorities said Dollar choked his 15-year-old daughter in his home and her 19-year-old sister witnessed the incident.

"The altercation stems from an argument over the 15-year-old attending a party," Fayette sheriff's spokesman Det. Bret Rowan said.

Dollar founded College Park's World Changers Church International in 1981.

During Sunday's service, there were also several other speakers who called for prayers.
