GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. —
A couple has been arrested in connection with a massage parlor burglary and shootout.
Police said Jonathan and Jessica MacMillan shot at officers as they fled from a robbery at a massage parlor in Duluth last month. They evaded arrest for a month but were charged Tuesday night.
The Tong Tong China Massage parlor on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard was robbed Nov. 22. A shootout ensued when Duluth police arrived and the burglars were leaving the business. Dashcam video showed officers ducking shots as they told the robbers to get down.
The dashcam video showed the second officer who arrived at the scene getting out of his car and shouting, "Put the gun down," and then diving near a bush to avoid a hail of gunfire.
The video showed a puff of dust rise after a bullet strikes the ground no more than 10 feet from him. Both officers involved in the shootout are OK.
Jonathan MacMillan was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of armed robbery, weapon possession and fleeing police. He is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail, with a hold from another agency.
MacMillan’s wife is being held at the Cobb County Jail on a destructive device hoax charge.
