Cops arrest alleged gunman in Gwinnett weave robbery

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. —

Police have arrested and charged a man accused of stealing hair weaves and cash from a Lawrenceville beauty supply store.

Police said Solomon Peter Cassell robbed a clerk at gunpoint at about 2 p.m. Friday at the Top Beauty Supply on Grayson Highway.

Police said the 21-year-old removed a weapon from a backpack and demanded the clerk to give him cash from the register. As the clerk complied, the robber placed the gun to her head and also ordered another cashier to open his register. Police said the gunman then put several hair weaves in his backpack before taking cash from the second register.

Arrest warrants were served for Cassell at his Lawrenceville home, but he wasn't there. At the time, he was in the Gwinnett Detention Center, where Cassell was being held on charges from another jurisdiction.

Cassell is now facing armed robbery and aggravated assault charges in the beauty supply robbery.
