Cops investigating possible connection of DeKalb shootings

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. —

Police are trying to determine if two shootings in Stone Mountain are related.

Police were called to The Lakes Apartments on West Mountain Street just before midnight on Aug. 31 and found Darius Myles Grays, 34, dead from a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

Witnesses said two suspects fled in a silver or gray vehicle driven by a woman. All three of the suspects were black, with one man in dreadlocks and the other with a short haircut, according to AJC.com.

On Aug. 31, police said a gunshot victim was dropped off at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur with multiple wounds. The unidentified man was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

“We are looking to see if these two incidents are related,” Det. Manuel Norrington said in a statement Saturday. “At this time we are seeking to identify the persons who dropped this victim off at DeKalb Medical and the victim.”

The Atlanta Journal Constitution contributed to this report.
