CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. —
A Clayton County teenager accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend was found guilty on all counts on Friday. Kevin Kosturi shot and killed 16-year-old Angel Freeman in February 2011. Kosturi was 15 years old at the time of the shooting. A jury found him guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, making false statements, tampering with evidence and several other charges. Prosecutors said Kosturi shot Freeman in a makeshift fort near his Ellenwood home after she broke up with him and started dating a neighbor. In closing arguments, Assistant District Attorney Bill Dixon revealed on Thursday that Kosturi intended to hill himself with a .38-caliber revolver, but the bullet didn't fire. The jury reached its decision after deliberating just a few hours on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Kosturi faces live in prison without parole when sentenced.
