Dozens of Channel 2 Action News viewers are stepping up to help an 87-year-old man whose home was trashed during a burglary.
The DeKalb County man and his daughter told Channel 2's Diana Davis they are touched by the support.
From the living room to the bedrooms, Floyd Thompson's small home was ransacked and torn apart. When Davis first met Thompson and his daughter, Judy Parker, smashed furniture lay in a heap in the front yard.
After seeing Davis' report earlier this week, dozens of Channel 2 viewers called and emailed the station wanting to help.
Thompson and his daughter said they never expected such an outpouring.
"It has just been tremendous the outpouring of love and kindness from the people that have contacted me. I can't believe there's people left like that in the world," Parker said.
"Thank you. You have all been so good and I appreciate it," Thompson said.
