DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

A car DeKalb County police officers were pursuing crashed into a utility pole on Redan Road Friday morning.

Police said the crash happened at 4957 Redan Road, just outside the perimeter around 5 a.m. The road between Panola and South Hairston roads has been shut down.

Police said an off-duty officer was working security at Cave nightclub on Covington Drive when he heard gunshots from across the street at another club. The officer saw a Dodge Durango and a Jaguar peel out of the parking lot, police said.

The officer put out a look-out for the Durango, which was pursued until it crashed into the utility pole. Of the seven people in the SUV, two people suffered serious injuries, one is in critical condition and four other suffered minor bumps and bruises, police said.

Another officer spotted the Jaguar in Tucker. The driver was found with a gunshot wound to the leg.
