The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Roswell Road near a three-way split with West Paces Ferry and Peachtree roads. Channel 2 Action News was at the scene as officers investigated. At least three DeKalb County police cars were on hand.
A mangled bicycle, tennis shoe and a Mercedes SUV with front-end and windshield damage were left in the aftermath of the crash. Police said they were looking into whether alcohol was a factor. The SUV driver was undergoing a Breathalyzer test.
The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition is unclear, but off-camera, an officer at the scene said the man was “tore up.”
