CHAMBLEE, Ga. —

A house fire in Chamblee left two brothers dead Monday morning.

Channel 2 Action News was at the home on Parsons Drive near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, where DeKalb County firefighters were putting out flames. They were called to the scene shortly before 5 a.m.

DeKalb County Fire Chief Edward O’Brien said crews extinguished the fire within minutes, but when the smoke settled, they found two men in their 50s dead in a bedroom. Relatives said they lived in the home for at least 35 years.

“It’s very sad,” the victims’ nephew, Derrick Jett, told Channel 2’s Darryn Moore.

Fire investigators were sifting through rubble trying to determine the cause of the fire.
