GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. —

Crime scene investigators searched for clues throughout Tuesday night after a triple shooting in a Gwinnett County home.

Police said two people were killed and a third was critically wounded just after 2 p.m. The surviving victim managed to run to a home on Ivy Crest Drive in unincorporated Buford for help.

"He was just banging on the door yelling, 'I've been shot. I've been shot,'" resident Whitney Patrick said.

Patrick told Channel 2 Action News the man was in his mid 20s and had been shot multiple times in the neck and once in the forehead. Although he appeared to have been shot four to five times, she said he seemed more concerned about his friend.

"That's what he was saying is, 'My buddy's in the house, and he's been shot too, at close range,'" she said.

Neighbors said the home where the shooting happened had been up for sale recently and looked empty for months.

"All of the sudden, [in] the last few weeks, somebody's been living there," said neighbor Janice Whitener.

Police said one of the victims may be related to the homeowner. Neighbors said they had not seen anything out of the ordinary at the home prior to the shooting, "Nothing that would lead you to believe that something like that would go on," neighbor Louie Kirchner said.

The surviving victim was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in critical condition. The victim's names have not been released.

Homicide detectives have not released information on a suspect.
