One person was killed and another injured at a shooting at a party early Sunday morning.

Authorities said someone knocked on the door at the Concepts Apartments on Old Holcomb Bridge Way in Roswell just after midnight and began shooting into the party as soon as the door was opened.

The man who opened the door was shot in the neck and died, police said.

“As he opened the door, he was shot at that particular point.  Later on, we found out that another subject had ran from the front of the apartment to the back. He found out after her had gotten out that he was grazed,” Lt. James McGee of the Roswell Police Department said.

The second man is recovering at Atlanta Medical Center and is expected to be OK.

Police spent the morning Sunday gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses at the party, which was at a home on Old Holcomb Bridge Way. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was brought in to assist with the investigation.

Police said the shooter was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with his face covered.
