ATLANTA —
The Corprs conducted tests over the weekend that show the lake has a 280-day supply of usable water. The tests were done on 10 inactive pools in the lake.
The so-called "dead pools" are made up of 115 feet of water directly below the conservation pools.
The Corps' Pat Taylor says the tests show the water quality if "pretty good." He says the water in the dead pools will require minimum treatment to make it suitable for drinking.
The lake has been at the center of a dispute between the governors of Alabama, Georgia and Florida over federal water resources.
The three governors will meet Thursday in Washington, D.C. to discuss sharing water resources.
