Housekeeper Hits Georgia Lottery

ATLANTA —

Kathy Berry is used to cleaning. But now, she’s polishing a plentiful Georgia Lottery top prize.

Berry, 48, won $75,000 playing the instant "Happy Mother’s Day" game.

She purchased the ticket at the Amoco West Market on Highway 53 in Jasper while on her way to pick up her 9-year-old daughter from school.

“It’s just a shock,” said Berry.

Berry, who owns a house cleaning service, plans to take a family vacation with her husband, William, and their daughter.
