GBI: Computer Repair Shop Finds Child Porn

HALL COUNTY, Ga. —

A Hall County man is in custody after a computer repair shop said it found child porn on the man’s laptop, authorities said.

The computer repair shop in turn contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the agency’s High Technology Investigations Unit (HTIU) subsequently executed a search warrant of the man’s computer. Investigators said they found multiple movie files of suspected child pornography on the laptop.

Daniel Ray Gann, 24, of Murrayville, was later charged with sexual exploitation of children and taken to the Hall County Detention Center.

Authorities said the investigation is part of an ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
