Former Marietta Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault

A former Marietta High School teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old female student.

Police said Christopher King, 36, was taken into custody at his home Wednesday without incident for allegedly violating the teacher-student relationship. King resigned from his teaching job Tuesday, officials said.

The Marietta Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact authorities.

King was being held at the Cobb County Jail Wednesday night on a $25,000 bond.
