Employee Dies From Tire Fire Injuries

An employee of a tire recycling business that caught fire Tuesday in Butts County, died of his injuries Wednesday night.

Officials say Jeff Cyronis, 39, of Covington died as a result of burns suffered in the fire.

Fire officials from two counties were called Tuesday night to fight the massive fire at Greenman Technologies off Alabama Blvd. in Jackson.

Cyronis was working at the time and was burned. He was taken by helicopter to a burn center in Augusta.

The state fire marshal and local authorities are investigating the fire.
