State investigators say an elementary school teacher encouraged students to change answers on standardized tests that she knew were wrong.

Sabrina Luckie is the most recent teacher to face a tribunal to decide if she will lose her teaching position over a 2009 CRCT test cheating scandal.

State investigators said Luckie admitted to prompting students who recorded incorrect answers to rethink their responses.

A report on the investigation said that resulted in an exceptionally high number of wrong to right erasures for her students at Fain Elementary.

“It is noted that Ms. Luckie based on her own admission willfully participated in willful neglect of duty, also morality, also admitted to students the look specifically for them to adjust or change answers,” APS coordinator Trisha Rock said.

Luckie’s attorney said she is unlucky to be the target of a lax and poorly investigated case. He said his client is innocent of the charges against her.

When the hearing is completed, the tribunal will rule on whether to uphold the superintendent’s recommendation for termination.
