Cobb Teen Accused Of Killing Cousin

 

MARIETTA, Ga. —

Police in Tennessee arrested a teen wanted in the shooting death of his cousin in Cobb County on Tuesday.

Police said Jahbari Jones, 18, of Marietta, shot and killed his 19-year-old cousin, Tradae Jones, after a verbal dispute. Cobb County police officials said Tradae Jones was shot at close range with a shotgun.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. on Long Drive in Marietta.

After the shooting, Jahbari Jones fled the scene in a stolen 1998 blue Ford Explorer, police said.

Just before 10 p.m., Jahbari Jones was taken into custody after a police chase by officers from the Trenton Police Department, the Dade County Sheriff's Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

Jahbari Jones is currently in custody at the Marion County (Tennessee) Adult Detention Center.
