Clayton County Cops Flush the Flint

Clayton Co., GA —

Clayton County Police fanned out over a wide area early Saturday morning in search of bad guys. And, judging by the numbers from the operation, they found them.

Approximately 70 Clayton County officers--both uniformed and undercover--took part in the several-hour crime sweep, dubbed "Flushing the Flint". They worked the area bounded by Flint River Road, Tara Boulevard and Georgia Route 85.

Deputy Chief Tim Robinson says officers arrested 39 people on a variety of charges, including drunk driving, driving without insurance and carrying a concealed weapon. Several of those arrested were juveniles, while others were wanted on outstanding criminal warrants.

Along with the arrests, cops also wrote 30 tickets for traffic violations and other minor offenses.

Police targeted the area because they say it is one of the higher crime areas in the county.
