Robert and Delisia Carter; the couple’s newborn son, Ethan Blake; and Delisia Carter’s 9-year-old daughter, Kayla, died after the family’s Mercedes collided with the BMW on Camp Creek Parkway between Butner and Old Fairburn roads, resulting in a chain-reaction crash involving a Volkswagen.

The family was en route to brunch after a church service when the fatal collision happened.

After colliding, the vehicles crossed a grassy median, where the Carter family’s Mercedes was struck head-on by a Volkswagen traveling westbound. Investigators said the Mercedes burst into flames when it collided with the Volkswagen.
