SMYRNA —

Smyrna police say a robber shoved an armored car employee to the ground, reached inside and made off with a bag of money. Reports place the haul at a million dollars.

The AT Systems truck was parked at a Texaco convenience store at the busy intersection of the East-West Connector and South Cobb Drive in Cobb County, just northwest of Atlanta, last night.

According to officials, one of the guards went inside the Texaco while another guard waited in the armored truck. When he came back to knock on the door to get in, the guard in the truck buzzed him in, and a man jumped him on the back, reached in, grabbed a bag of money and ran to the rear of the store's lot.

A police dog tracked the robber to the back. Investigators believe he had a getaway car waiting.

One of the two guards was transported to a hospital with a head injury. It is believed the guard was struck his head when he fell.

Hook and other authorities could not be reached immediately to confirm details of the robbery.

Police are still searching for the suspects.
