APS Receives Subpoena In Criminal Case

The Atlanta Public School system has received a subpoena in a criminal case involving standardized test cheating.

Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne confirmed the subpoena Monday afternoon. In a text message sent at 5:35 p.m., APS spokesman Keith Bromery told Winne, “I was just informed that we have been served by the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office with a subpoena seeking various records and documents associated with the state 2009 CRCT investigation follow-up.”

Last month, Channel 2 reported Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard confirmed he had top members of his team assigned to the APS case. They were investigating reports that teachers misreported test results to inflate scores.

The school system let go more than 100 teachers and principals who were implicated in a state investigation.
