Accused Shoplifter Dies At Walmart

A man died during an altercation with police after he was chased, police said.

According to Dunwoody Police, an altercation began when Marty Bridges, 38, attempted to flee when officers arrived to assist in a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Ashford Dunwoody Saturday afternoon.

During the altercation Bridges lost consciousness, police said.

Bridges was taken to Northside Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating the case.
