CLARKE COUNTY, Ga. —

Police released a series of 911 calls Tuesday that document the events leading up to and following a shooting that killed one police officer and injured another.

Channel 2 Action News obtained the recorded phone calls and dispatches from Athens-Clarke County police that document a kidnapping, the police shooting and a carjacking.

Police later arrested Jamie Hood,33, after a four-day manhunt and charged him in all three events.

“I just saw a guy jump out of the trunk of a Cadillac. He was tied up with his hands tied. He jumped out of the car,” a witness told the 911 dispatcher.

Shortly after, Jadon Brooks, the victim, calls police as well. "I would like to report a kidnapping, carjacking and an armed robbery,” Brooks said. “Luckily, I just got out of the boot of the car. He hid me in the boot of the car," he said.

Brooks told 911 operators that the man who kidnapped him was Hood. Police then were given an alert to search for Hood and the victim’s car.

A dispatcher then asked an officer if he was clear on the search for Hood and what neighborhood he was in.

Seconds later, the drama surrounding the shooting of Officers Tony Howard and Elmer "Buddy" Christian unfolds on the radio. LISTEN: Athens Police Shooting 911 Call

“Officer shot. He was shot. Oh my god,” an officer screams into the radio. “All units to Sycamore Drive,” the dispatcher ordered.

“911? On Sycamore Drive, there are two guys and one is shooting at police,” a witness calls in after.

“Can you tell me what he looks like?” the dispatcher asked.

“He’s a black guy, a bald guy and he’s running down the street. You better hurry up,” the man responded.

Police accused Hood of shooting Howard after being pulled over, then shooting Christian in his patrol car after fleeing the scene.

The recorded calls continued with more frantic calls for help from officers arriving at the scene. Suddenly, more 911 calls came in with reports that someone had carjacked a vehicle.

“I’ve got Oconee County. They’re advising me suspect just carjacked somebody off Epps Bridge Road,” a dispatcher reported. “It is a Prizm.”

Police later found that vehicle a short distance from Hood’s parent's home.

Police arrested Hood on Friday when he surrendered on live television.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan said Tuesday that Hood took 10 people hostage on Friday when a teenage girl came out to start her family’s car.

Keenan said Hood surprised the girl and held her and nine others captive. Keenan said one of the hostages managed to escape.

Hood waived an initial court appearance Tuesday morning.
