COBB COUNTY, Ga. —

A 6-month-old baby injured in a Saturday night crash on Interstate 75 has died.

The crash also left four adults recovering after a tractor-trailer landed on top of a vehicle.

Cobb County police said a tractor-trailer and three other cars were involved in the crash at about 10 p.m. Saturday. The scene of the massive crash on Interstate 75 southbound near the Windy Hill Road exit was reopened by Sunday morning.

According to investigators, traffic was stopped on I-75 due to construction in the area but the driver of the tractor-trailer, 59-year-old Henry Lipps, did not brake. Lipps slammed into two vehicles before his wheels lodged into the back seat of a car.

“Early indication is the tractor-trailer was traveling southbound and these vehicles were all impacted by that trailer,” said Cobb County police spokesman Joseph Hernandez.
