11 Arrested In Wheeler High School Brawl

MARIETTA, Ga. —

Eleven students were arrested at Wheeler High School in Marietta Friday morning following a brawl that involved two rival groups of students, police said.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Ross Cavitt visited Wheeler High School Friday, where parents told him they are concerned about their children’s safety.

“It does scare me that these things happen. I worry about my child's safety. I don't think there is enough security,” said one parent.

School officials said campus police officers quickly broke up the brawl and that investigators are trying to determine what sparked the dispute between students. Cobb County police were called to assist with the crowd.

Police transported 11 students to youth detention, where they were later released to their parents.

Officials haven’t said what specific charges the students face.
