A spur-of-the-moment decision turned out to be a million-dollar win for a Newnan mother of three. Sheila Davis, 53, played the instant game $1,000,000 Gold Rush and won a $1 million top prize.
Davis and her husband, Johnnie, were on their way home when the couple stopped at CBS Convenience Store, 550 Smokey Road in Newnan, and Davis purchased a ticket.
“When my husband saw it, he started shaking,” she said. “I started crying. We’re all very excited.”
The lucky winner, who works for Habitat for Humanity, anticipates taking care of her family.
“We’ll do something we’ve never done,” Davis exclaimed.
