Officers threw a special retirement party for a police horse.

OMAHA — Police officers in Omaha, Nebraska threw a special retirement party for a police horse.

Blaze, an 18-year-old horse, is retiring after three years of service to the Omaha Police Department.

Blaze's fellow officers celebrated his retirement by throwing him a party, complete with a cake made of carrots, apples and whipped cream.

One of Blaze's former colleagues described him as "a rock" for the department.

Blaze will enjoy his retirement at a pasture in Ohio.
