Georgia ranks among worst for rude drivers

Traffic in metro Atlanta

ATLANTA — What ever happened to Southern hospitality? Georgia, we have a manners problem… well, when it comes to driving.

To some, it comes as no surprise. To others, we know the reality of driving on our roads.

A new survey ranks Georgia toward the bottom of the list of the country’s most courteous drivers.

Georgia ranked 44th out of the 50 states. That is a “D” grade.

Drivers were asked questions like, “How often do you signal” (Georgia was tied for last), “Would you let someone merge into your lane,” and graded each state’s response.

The survey was put together by Kars4Kids, which promotes courteous driving. The campaign is called Drive Human, with the goal of reminding drivers that they share the road with other people, not faceless cars.
