Driver survives being crushed by dump truck filled with stones

Dump truck crash in New Jersey

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A dump truck filled with stones overturned onto a car in New Jersey but amazingly the driver survived.

The wreck happened on Monday on Route 539 and Harry Wright Boulevard in the township of Manchester.

Police said the dump truck struck a Nissan Altima, causing both vehicles to leave the roadway and crash into the ditch.

The impact caused the truck to overturn on the Nissan’s roof and spill its load onto it.

The driver was trapped underneath stone and debris but her passenger was able to escape soon after the crash.

Crash in New Jersey

Crews from multiple agencies rushed in to help remove the debris and rescue the driver from the car.

The driver was eventually pulled from the wreck and was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver escaped without serious injury.
